Today's Word "Fillip"

fillip \FI-lip\ (noun) - 1 : A flick of the finger, a snap made by compressing a finger behind the thumb, then releasing it so that it pops outward to strike against something; 2 : anything small and minor, either trivial, as a broken fingernail, or considerable, as a garnish or embellishment of something larger.

The origin of today's word is uncertain. We are sure that it is related to "flip," which has the same meaning. "Flip" is probably a reduction of "fillip" by the same vowel syncope that converts "police" to [pleece], "pollute" to [ploot] and, at its worse, "forecastle" to [fo'c's'le] in casual - or careless - speech. The word may be used as a verb as well as a noun. Outside this bit of versatility, it has no family at all.

Scripture text: Galatians 3:13,14
“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”— 14 so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.”

Beloved,
Let us never forget that salvation is never the result of our efforts but only on the finished work of Jesus Christ. It was God’s intention for man that salvation would be the result of His sacrifice and not anything that a fallen, sinful man might do. Jesus death was not a mistake, He was sent to die for our sins.
The sole purpose of the law was to personify our need for salvation not to provide the means of salvation. The law states that if we offend the law just once then we have broken all of the law. Our plight is hopeless without Jesus Christ as our redeemer kinsman.
The promise to Abraham that the world would be blessed was fulfilled in Jesus death and resurrection. Not just His dying, folks die everyday. His resurrection is proof positive that His sacrifice for us was accepted as total payment for our sins, past, present and future.
Now we have been bought and paid for with the precise price and we are now His bond servants. We are redeemed to serve Him and not ourselves.
This is God’s plan from the beginning. Because of this the ultimate gift has been given to us. The first part of that gift is the Holy Spirit being sent as a part of our earthly existence. It didn’t happen on Resurrection day but on the day of Pentecost, fifty days later and in dramatic and public fashion. Rejoice in the remaining gift of heaven now, today!
Almighty God, I bless You for providing so great a salvation for all who will believe and follow you, to the glory of Jesus Christ.” Amen.

I BELIEVE IT IS OFTEN TOO EASY FOR THE DEVIL TO PUT CHRISTIANS ON THE DEFENSE FOR OUR FAITH IN THE WORD OF GOD AND TRUTH OF JESUS...MY SPIRIT TELLS ME TO SPEAK BOLDLY OF MY GOD AND NEVER BE ASHAMED OF THE TRUTH...WOULD I DIE FOR JESUS?...I LIKE TO BELIEVE I WOULD INSTEAD OF DENYING GOD TO STAY ALIVE...I ALSO BELIEVE I WOULD NOT BE PUT IN THAT POSITION UNLESS IT WOULD BE FOR THE GLORY OF GOD AND HIS SON'S SACRIFICE...JESUS DID NOT ENFORCE HIS MINISTRY AND TRUTH ON ANYONE, AS I SEE HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES...EVEN NOW COUNTRY'S SCRAMBLE TO POSSESS LAND, TECHNOLOGY AND EVEN PEOPLE SO THEY MAY SATISFY THE VERY THINGS JESUS WAS SENT TO SAVE US FROM...I CAN SEE VERY CLEARLY THERE IS NO EXCEPTIONS TO GODS LOVE AND FORGIVENESS WHEN WE COMMUNICATE WITH HIM THROUGH OUR SPIRIT WITHIN...WE AS BELIEVERS CAN DO NO LESS FOR EACH OTHER...HUMANS CANNOT CHANGE PEOPLES HEARTS...GOD CAN AND WILL WHEN WE PRAY AND LIVE A LIFE THAT SHOWS THE AWESOME GLORY OF HIS POWER AND BLESSINGS THROUGH FAITH...I DO NOT NEED TO WITNESS IN A STADIUM TO KNOW I AM DOING GODS WORK...ONE SOUL BROUGHT TO THE FOLD IS EVERY BIT AS IMPORTANT AS 2000...I TRUST GOD TO PUT ME WHERE I BELONG AND WILL DO HIS WORK WHEREVER I FIND MYSELF...I AM NOT ASHAMED OF MY GOD...MY SPIRIT WILL SPEAK FOR ME SO I CAN BE ASSURED I WILL SAY WHAT NEEDS TO BE SAID WHEN THE TIME COMES...NO ONE IS UNWORTHY OF HIS LOVE, MERCY, AND GRACE...WE ARE IMPERFECT AND GETTING BETTER WHEN WE DRAW CLOSER AND COMMUNICATE AND LISTEN TO THE SPIRIT WITHIN US...TWO WORDS JESUS SAID OFTEN COMFORT ME WHEN I FEEL LOST AND INADEQUATE..."FOLLOW ME"... Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they were defeated and there was no longer any place for them in heaven.
